About Angus

Angus has spent more than two decades helping people navigate life’s biggest financial questions — from “Can I afford to retire?” to “What do I want life to look like after selling my business?”

As a Registered Life Planner — one of fewer than 500 globally — Angus brings a unique depth to financial advice. He works with high-net-worth individuals, business owners and professionals across Edinburgh and Aberdeen, blending robust financial planning with empathetic listening and behavioural coaching.

His approach is calm, strategic, and entirely client-led. Whether it’s consolidating pension pots, investing a business exit, or just feeling stuck about next steps, Angus creates space for people to think clearly — and act intentionally.

“It’s not about telling people what to do. It’s about helping them realise what they want to do — and how to get there.”

At Transform, Angus wears two hats: adviser and co-founder. He helped launch the business in 2009 (then Bridge Investments), and since rebranding as Transform, has been instrumental in its continued growth — leading client relationships, strategic development, and the popular Joy of Money podcast.

Outside of work, Angus is based in Edinburgh where he originally came to study agriculture (he jokes that he arrived on ‘missionary work’). He’s a father of 4 boys, cooks a lot (willingly), and part-time taxi driver for his children (less willingly).

An interesting fact about me

“In 2018 I took part in a yacht race across the South Atlantic, from Uruguay to Cape Town, South Africa.”
